Sweet Aims To Hold Grip On USAC Mopar Midget National Points Lead At Hickory

By Auto News Log • March 23rd, 2010

Mopar-powered Kasey Kahne Racing driver Brad Sweet has won two of the first three USAC Mopar Midget National Championship events this year and holds the No. 1 spot in the point standings. The Grass Valley, Calif. native will look to add to his win total and keep a lock down on the top spot in the standings when the series makes it inaugural appearance at Hickory (N.C.) Motor Speedway, March 24–25.

Sweet is gunning for his tenth career USAC Mopar Midget National Midget win in his Kasey Kahne Racing Ollie’s Bargain Outlet/Auto Value Spike/Mopar at the historic .363-mile paved oval. A victory would also be the 41st USAC triumph for Kahne, who won 21 USAC features as a driver before his move to NASCAR in 2004. Since his last USAC win as a driver in 2003, he has since earned 19 USAC feature wins as a car owner with victories in all three of USAC’s premier National series as an owner.
