Mopar-powered Beauchamp Toughs it out in the Rain at Trois Rivieres

By Auto News Log • August 8th, 2011

Ron Beauchamp Jr. was back in action on the road course at Trois Rivieres in Quebec on Sunday, Aug. 7 in his Mopar-powered Dodge Challenger, with the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series, finishing 14th. Beauchamp started 15th on the rain-soaked track and was running near the top-10 before a late race caution set up a green/white/checker finish, which jumbled the running order. Dodge drivers swept the podium for the sixth time this season, with Robin Buck picking up the win.

“No one was really sure what to expect,” explained Beauchamp. “We were all worried about racing in the wet on such a tight track. There was just so much spray and fog on the inside of the windshield, I wanted to be really sure before making any moves.”

Mopar-powered Dodge driver Andrew Ranger finished second, with Scott Steckly third, Jeff Lapcevich fourth, L.P. Dumoulin fifth, Jason White sixth, DJ Kennington ninth and Dave Connelly 10th.

Beauchamp is currently sixth in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series championship standings, less than 30 markers out of the top-five. Next up for Beauchamp and the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series is a visit to Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal on Aug. 20. For more information on Mopar Canada, visit
