Mopar-Powered Beauchamp Battles Back for Top-10 at Delaware Speedway

By Auto News Log • June 9th, 2010

Ron Beauchamp drove his No. 60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge to an eighth-place finish in the opening round of the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series at Delaware Speedway near London, Ontario on Saturday, June 5.

The Mopar Parts Dodge was quick during the afternoon practice session and Beauchamp posted the fifth quickest time in qualifying. In the main event, after an early pit stop for adjustments, Beauchamp immediately began improving his position and was soon inside the top-five runners, until contact with the No. 9 car sent him back in the field. Beauchamp again moved toward the front until he was collected in another incident late in the race, forcing him to settle for an eighth-place finish.

“It was a solid day early on for our team” said Beauchamp. “The car was a little loose but I knew it would race well, and a top-five starting spot is very good for the first race of the season. The car was performing perfectly, then the racing, well, she got a little rough out there.”

Ron Beauchamp Jr. and the No. 60 Mopar Parts/Mobil 1/Exide Batteries Dodge Team will compete in all thirteen races on the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series. Round Two is June 12–13 on the road course at Mosport International Raceway.
