Another Mopar® Mile-High NHRA Nationals is in the books and once again Mopar, Chrysler Group LLC’s service, parts and customer-care brand, is in celebration mode after a fantastic event at Bandimere Speedway in Morrison, Colo.

The 31st Annual Mopar Mile-High NHRA Nationals kicked off with the Mopar Big Block Event in Golden, Colo. on Thursday night, July 22. Mopar fans packed the streets of Golden to see the reveal of the Mopar ’10 Challenger, the first-ever Mopar edition of a Chrysler Group vehicle. Attendees also enjoyed a Team Mopar autograph session and checked out the Mopar race and show cars on display while rock band Rated M Live provided the sounds.

The Mopar ’10 Challenger also took part in a special race during the pre-finals ceremonies on Sunday, July 25. Jim Sassorossi, Director—Mopar Parts, Sales and Marketing, and SpeedFreaks radio host Kenny Sargent introduced the Mopar ’10 to the cheers of the Thunder Mountain fans.

In addition to the on-track success of Team Mopar drivers Allen Johnson, Matt Hagan and David Bogner (see stories below), Mopar also captured a pair of special awards at the Mopar Mile-Highs. Eaton, Ohio’s Keith Lynch took home the NHRA Best Appearing Car award for his Mopar Dodge Challenger Drag Pak vehicle. The Mopar-powered Maddox Motor Co. Super Comp dragster entry of Craig Maddox of Sidney, Neb. was named Best Engineered Car.

“The 31st Annual Mopar Mile-High NHRA Nationals was a resounding success,” said Sassorossi. “From the Mopar Big Block Event to the reveal of our Mopar ’10 Challenger to the victories by Team Mopar Pro Stock driver Allen Johnson and NHRA Sportsman David Bogner, we couldn’t be happier. These Mopar-powered wins at our brand’s headline event are a testament to the durability and performance of Mopar parts.”
