Auburn, Ind.- A collection of authentic and documented celebrity memorabilia is going up for auction, with many examples coming to market for the first time in history, at the Auctions America by RM sale in Auburn, Indiana, Sept 2 to 5, 2010.

The assortment of about 65 popular culture and celebrity items includes: Janis Joplin’s multi-colored poncho worn by her on stage; Marilyn Monroe’s personal hair pin; a rare Michael Jackson-signed Fender Telecaster guitar; and, the infamous “little friend” M-16A1 machine gun equipped with an M-203 grenade launcher wielded by Al Pacino in “Scarface”.

Auctions America by RM, specialists in the sale of collector cars, will open each of the four auction sessions at its ‘Auburn Fall Collector Car Auction’ over the Labor Day weekend with approximately one hour of memorabilia offerings followed by the over 1,000 automobiles consigned. The event is expected to draw thousands of visitors to the Auctions America 235-acre Auburn Auction Park.

A motor car featuring celebrity provenance is a 1934 Ford One-Ton Woodie Truck that was used as the first tour car for Roy Rogers and his western band.
