Garlits Views New Mopar Challenger V-10 Drag Pak Assembly

“Big Daddy” Don Garlits visited his new Mopar Challenger V-10 Drag Pak at the production facility near Detroit on Monday, Aug. 22. Body prep and roll cage installation was complete and the car was scheduled for paint (“Swamp Rat” Black) beginning that afternoon.

Final assembly of the Mopar Challenger V-10 Drag Pak will commence on Monday, Aug. 29 and will be complete by the end of the week. Mopar and NHRA legend Garlits will take delivery of the car in mid-September, his second Mopar Challenger Drag Pak.

“I was impressed with the quality of workmanship that the team was doing and enjoyed the visit immensely,” said Garlits.

Garlits competed in the World Series of Drag Racing in Cordova, Ill., August 25–28, in his current 2009 Dodge Challenger Drag Pak. He is scheduled to compete in Stock Eliminator at the 57th Annual Mac Tools U.S. Nationals at Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis, Ind., Aug. 31–Sept. 5.
