Maranello – On the occasion of the second race in the Ferrari Challenge North America, held at the Miller Motorsport Park in Tooele, Utah, a group of Ferraris, not taking part in any competitions and supported by Maranello’s Corse Clienti department, participated in some free practice sessions. Eight Ferrari 599XX, the non-homologated sports Berlinetta for exclusive use on race circuits, and three FXX went onto the track on the weekend of the famous North American series, held for the 17th time this year.

Mark McKenzie (Ferrari of Houston), the winner of the 2009 season, was first in the Ferrari Challenge qualifying, while Enzo Potolicchio, from the local dealership The Collection, gained the second position on the grid. His teammate Francesco Piovanetti was fifth on the grid, behind Sun Ho Lee (Ferrari of Beverly Hills) and Scott Tucker (Boardwalk Ferrari).

Harry Cheung (Ferrari of Silicon Valley) crossed the line first in race 1, just ahead of Tucker (Boardwalk Ferrari) and Potolicchio (The Collection). In race 2 Scott Tucker (Boardwalk Ferrari) came in with his F430 ahead of Cheung (sixth) thanks to a great pursuit race. Third position went to Francesco Piovanetti (The Collection) right ahead of his teammate Enzo Potolicchio, who drove the weekend’s fastest lap in the race (1.36.992), now leading the Drivers’ standings with 670 points.

The North American series will be back on 2 May, when the race will be held at the Infineon circuit in California.
