St. Petersburg, Fla. – Cadillac Racing placed both cars in the top 10 in the second World Challenge GT race in two days at the Streets of St. Petersburg.

Driver Johnny O’Connell started in the fifth position and finished seventh and Andy Pilgrim started sixth and finished eighth. Both cars sustained damage early in the race – O’Connell on the first lap and Pilgrim on the 11th lap – after making contact with competitors.

“It’s a good first weekend,” Pilgrim said. “Both cars are sort of OK. We’ve got a little bit of damage. But we got some points. We got some experience, and we go on from here.”

“That was one of the most wild and fun races ever,” O’Connell said. “We survived. We came away with good points. It gives you a lot to look forward to for the rest of the season. I’m very optimistic.”

The next World Challenge GT race is April 17 at the Streets of Long Beach race.

In the first World Challenge GT series race at the Streets of St. Petersburg, O’Connell grabbed fourth place and Pilgrim placed 11th.

After two races, O’Connell is sixth in the World Challenge driver standings with 157 points. Pilgrim ranks 11th with 125 points.
