In the penultimate VLN Langstreckenmeisterschaft race series of 2010, Aston Martin secured two class wins on the famous Nordschleife circuit. In the SP8 class Aston Martin Chief Engineer, Chris Porritt and guest driver Peter Cate drove the V12 Vantage that contended the 24 hour race back in May to a class win in cold, wet and foggy conditions.

CEO Dr. Ulrich Bez along with Nürburgring Test Centre Director, Wolfgang Schuhbauer and Dr. Karl Wlazik took third in class in the second V12 Vantage.

The second class victory was scored by Team Mathol Racing in the SP10 category in a V8 Vantage driven by Wolfgang Weber, Norbert Bremes and Rickard Nilsson. Just behind in second place came customer team Gentle Swiss Racing driven by Freddy Barth and Peter Wyss.

David King, Head of Motorsport said: “We had to deal with some very difficult race conditions today which makes our victory even sweeter and it has shown once again that our cars are not only fast but also reliable and durable.”

The final round of the VLN Langstreckenmeisterschaft takes place on 30 October 2010.
