Aston Martin Rapide Voted ‘Classic Car of the Future’

Gaydon / Wolfsburg – The Aston Martin Rapide has registered a further triumph in a reader vote; this time in the inaugural ‘Classic Golden Steering Wheel’ awards hosted by German magazine, Auto Bild Klassik. In the first running of the awards, the Aston Martin Rapide has won the vote for the ’Classic Car of the Future.’

”It is something very special to see that a car which has only recently been introduced to the market is declared a future classic so shortly afterwards. It shows the strong confidence and enthusiasm people have for our sports cars and it makes us proud“, said Dr. Ulrich Bez, Aston Martin Chief Executive, at the award ceremony taking place at “Autostadt” in Wolfsburg. “The fact, that both design experts and, as we see here today, fans of classic cars alike are making the Rapide their favourite car shows that is a major vote of support for Aston Martin.”

Winning in the category ’Limousines’, the Aston Martin Rapide received 5,838 votes ahead of the Audi A8 (4,083 votes) and BMW 5 series (2,317 votes). More than 23,000 readers of ‘participated in the vote.
