ALMS: ESM Ready for Sebring Challenge With New Ferraris

By Auto News Log • March 3rd, 2011

Second-year team anxious to build on 2010 finish

The first North American appearance of Ferrari’s F458 racer at last month’s Sebring Winter Test garnered headlines across motorsports. Today we check back with Extreme Speed Motorsports, which is fielding a pair of F458s for the GT class of the American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón.

The driver pairings for the 2011 season remain the same as last year – team owner Scott Sharp and Johannes van Overbeek in one car with Guy Cosmo and Ed Brown in the second entry. The second-year team realizes it faces a daunting challenge by bringing a new car on board. But as you can see below, ESM – which closed 2010 with a runner-up class finish at Petit Le Mans – remains fearless with the 59th Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring presented by Fresh from Florida approaching.

The 59th Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring presented by Fresh from Florida is set for 10:30 a.m. ET on Saturday, March 19. The race will be shown live and in its entirety on ESPN3.com and americanlemans.com starting at 10:15 a.m. ET. ABC will provide coverage from 12:30 to 2 p.m. ET on Sunday, March 20.
