By Auto News Log • April 4th, 2012

Mecum Auctions 2012 Spring Classic Spotlight: 1968 Chevrolet Corvette L88 Convertible (Lot S188) – a fully restored L88.

Expertly restored by Nabers Brothers of Houston, Texas, this stunning Lemans Blue 1968 Chevrolet Corvette convertible is one of just 13 documented 1968 L88 convertibles known to exist. A no-hit example with all original drivetrain comprising the L88 427/430 HP engine, M22 “Rock Crusher” transmission and 3.55 Positraction rear end, it was restored using all NOS parts, right down to the dated shock absorbers and 1968 NOS Redline tires. The result: Bloomington Gold Certification with a score of 98.2, induction into the Bloomington Gold Earthquake 88 and L88 Invasion Special Collections, participation in the Meadowbrook Concours d’Elegance and the NCRS Top Flight Award. This outstanding L88 convertible is well documented with the original factory invoice and Protect-O-Plate.
