Mecum Auctions 2012 Spring Classic Spotlight: 1967 Chevrolet Yenko Camaro (Lot S134)

By Auto News Log • March 27th, 2012

1967 Chevrolet Yenko Camaro (Lot S134) - one of less than 10 known to exist and the only Butternut Yellow example to have survived the test of time.

This 1967 Chevrolet Camaro started life as an L78-equipped RS/SS model with 4-speed manual transmission and 4.10 Positraction rear end, and upon delivery to Yenko Chevrolet became one of the approximately 50 first-year Camaros that launched a legendary line of muscle cars. Marked by its unique Yenko badges, Stinger-style hood and Corvette side exhaust, the Butternut Yellow coupe packs an L72 427/425 HP big block, a 4-speed manual and power front disc brakes. Yenko also strengthened the front end with Tuftrided front spindles and shot peened tie rods, steering relay, steering knuckles, steering arms and ball studs. Documentation includes the original hand-written invoice and Yenko window sticker.
