Video: Cadillac Offers Glimpse of New Luxury Compact
Behind-the-scenes drive with GM North America President Mark Reuss
DETROIT – Cadillac is showing a behind-the-scenes video of the development of its new compact luxury car, codenamed ATS.
The two-minute video features interviews with GM North America President Mark Reuss, who is test-driving a pre-production development version of the car, along with global Vehicle Line Executive David Leone, lead development engineer Chris Berube, and performance engineer Kevin Zelenka.
“How do you put a metric on what the soul of the car is? And I think that’s what we’re creating that’s very unique here is a soul for Cadillac in this segment that we haven’t had before,” Reuss says in the video.
The small Cadillac will begin production next summer at the Lansing Grand River plant, the same Michigan assembly plant that builds the award-winning midsize Cadillac CTS sedan, coupe and wagon. The plant received a $190 million investment and 600 jobs for the new model.
