Notification Alerts Owners if Vehicle is Moved Without Permission; Reduces Time Between Theft Discovery and Vehicle Recovery

Westwood, MA - LoJack Corporation (NASDAQ: LOJN), the company that invented the stolen vehicle recovery market, today announced that its highly effective Early Warning notification feature is now available for the LoJack for Classics Stolen Vehicle Recovery System. Early Warning offers advanced theft protection by contacting classic car and specialty vehicle owners regardless of where they are in up to five different ways – via home phone, work phone, cell phone, e-mail and text message – if their vehicle is moved without permission. Early Warning can significantly reduce the time between theft discovery and vehicle recovery, adding an even greater measure of protection for these one-of-a-kind, specialty vehicles that are often housed in storage facilities and garages.

The company launched its flagship LoJack for Classics system in September 2010 and Early Warning is the newest functionality designed for owners of specialty vehicles.

“Our new Early Warning notification feature provides unmatched protection for owners of these valuable and often unique specialty vehicles,” said Ted Saraf, LoJack Law Enforcement Liaison and classic car owner/enthusiast. “I know personally how passionate owners can be about their collector cars. So, sending an alert if a vehicle is moved without permission enables owners to rest as bit easier knowing that if their vehicle is stored out-of-sight in a garage or is even at a classic car event, they will be quickly notified in the event of theft. This provides an added measure of protection that is critical for these specialty vehicles, which are all too often the target of professional thieves.”

LoJack for Classics with the Early Warning notification feature is comprised of a small wireless Radio Frequency transceiver that can be covertly installed in an owner’s preferred location in the vehicle, along with an Early Warning Key Pass and an Early Warning Motion Sensor. The key pass and motion sensor enable the owner to be notified if the car is moved without permission. The owner can then contact police, who activate the System and can use LoJack’s Police Tracking Computers installed in their vehicles and aircraft to locate and recover the stolen vehicle.

LoJack for Classics is based on the company’s newest, self-powered stolen vehicle recovery technology, which is ideally suited to classics as it does not draw energy from a vehicle’s battery, and as such does not need to be connected to the vehicle’s electrical system – a process that can be complicated, disruptive and possibly damaging to customized collector vehicles. It also leverages the company’s proven Radio Frequency technology, highly covert installation processes, and direct integration with police – all of which have enabled LoJack to deliver a 90 percent recovery success rate for vehicles that are equipped with the system and reported stolen.

LoJack for Classics offers a personalized installation process to meet the specific needs of classic car owners. The system is installed by select, certified LoJack installers, who take the utmost care to preserve the integrity of the vehicle’s interior and exterior. It is a covert system, which can be installed or “hidden” in one of a variety of locations specified by the vehicle owner.
