By Auto News Log • May 6th, 2010

The “Balance of Performance” delivered by Michelin tires perfectly aligned with Porsche’s “Intelligent Performance”

Michelin, the tire maker, and Porsche, the automobile manufacturer, embrace the same philosophy, based on similar analytical and engineering methods and a shared spirit.

Porsche has recently unveiled its dynamic new approach – called Porsche Intelligent Performance – which involves manufacturing vehicles that deliver enhanced performance while also consuming less fuel and that are more efficient and less polluting. This strategy corresponds perfectly with Michelin’s strategy of designing and producing tires that provide the most balanced performance.

MICHELIN tires, especially those that will be fitted on the new Porsche Cayenne, are designed for superior performance in terms of safety-enhancing grip as well as fuel-efficiency and total mileage.

The MICHELIN lineups for Porsche’s new SUV are organized around three tire models. All of the tires display the special N marking on the sidewalls, certifying that they comply with Porsche’s very high quality standards. The three models are:

- The MICHELIN Latitude Tour HP
- The MICHELIN Latitude Sport
- The MICHELIN Latitude Alpin

These lineups ensure that in summer and winter the new Porsche Cayenne will be equipped with tires that enhance safety performance, reduce its environmental footprint and last longer.

Porsche and Michelin have demonstrated their ability to develop high-tech solutions that respond to the dual objective of enhancing driving performance and protecting the environment, by reducing fuel consumption and corresponding carbon emissions.
