Mecum Auctions 2012 Spring Classic Spotlight: 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429 Fastback (Lot F319)

The 38th car built and the 23rd offered for sale to the public, this exceptional 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429 is serial number KK1238. As one of the first 50 hand-built prototypes, it is equipped with the rare early 820-S engine utilizing NASCAR-spec heavy-duty rods, forged pistons and a steel crank. The first Boss 429 finished in Candy Apple Red, it was rotisserie restored in 2009 by Randy Roberts of Muscle Car Restorations, Inc and detailed by Boss expert Ed Meyer. It is listed in the New Mustang Boss Registry and is offered with the original build sheet and complete owner history.

Mecum Auctions will celebrate its Silver anniversary at Dana Mecum’s 25th Original Spring Classic Auction. More than 2,100 vehicles will cross the auction block May 15-20, 2012, at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis, Ind.

Dana Mecum’s 25th Original Spring Classic Auction is open to the general public with tickets available at the gate for only $15. Gates open daily at 8 a.m. Eastern Time.
