By Auto News Log • January 28th, 2012

Mr. Raja Gargour, Director-Royal Automobile Museum, formally owned Classic Car Consultants, an advisory company specializing in antique vehicles.

Having received his MBA in 1981, Raja joined his family’s automotive business in Jordan for a few years before he moved to Los Angeles. During that period he restored his first classic car, a 1971 Mercedes-Benz 280 SE 3.5 convertible, once owned by HM King Hussein.

In 1984 he purchased from Formula I World Racing Champion Phil Hill one of the largest and best-known antique car restoration facilities in the U.S, Hill & Vaughn. Hill & Vaughn won every single automotive Concours d’Elegance they entered including the most prestigious in the world, the Pebble Beach Concours.

In 1994 Mr. Gargour started Classic Car Consultants whereby he oversaw restorations for his clients, advised on and managed classic car collections, as well as advised purchases and sales of classic and collector cars. As an authority on antique cars, he judges and organizes several car shows a year. He currently judges at Newport Beach Concours, Classics on Rodeo, and serves as Chief Judge at Beverly Hills “Classics For Charity” Concours.

His connection with the Royal Palace began in the early 1980’s as he consulted on and supplied all rare parts for the Motor pool.

In 2001 Mr. Gargour was consultant to Mr. Jafar Tukan on the building of the Royal Automobile Museum project, and proceeded in 2002 to submit his theme for the museum and became the Consultant for the Royal Court for the project.

The excitement is building in the collector car and auto enthusiast world with the upcoming Kuwait Concours d’Elegance taking place February 15th – 18th, 2012.
